AS IS | Fabian Albertini

Artist, photographer

From Italy

Based between Italy and Brazil

We talked with stupendous Fabian Albertini about the ways nature accompanies her in her creative process, the importance of immersing oneself in art, ways to experience it, and much more

A: Please, tell us a bit more about yourself. What brought you into art?

F: Ever since I was a child, I started painting and photographing. This has always relaxed me and calmed my mind. With art, I found my dimension.

A: What inspires you the most?

F: Nature.

A: Do you have any specific rituals while working(creating)?

F: It depends if I work with photography or painting. With photography, I usually start with a trip, where I produce a lot of material, then after a few months, I work it digitally and manually, when I paint on the images.

A: What would you recommend to someone new to art (an artist or just an admirer), what to begin with?

F: Read a lot, go to many exhibitions, art fairs, and museums, open your mind, get inspired, always question yourself.

A: Your top 3 adjectives related to art?

F: Breath, spirituality, connection.

A: The best angle to look at art is from ..?

F: The heart, the soul.

A: The perfect phrase to start any conversation about art is:..?

F: The concept of…

A: Must-read books to help us talk about art (or do we even need them)?

F: Absolutely, we must read art books and books which talk about art. But not only that, every book is important, especially those about philosophy.

A: If you could change one thing in the art world - what would it be?

F: I don't know, it's not my role.

A: Please, share your favorite quote (not necessarily related to art).

F: “I need to create art to breathe, to live, to express myself, to get out of an obvious reality.”

Thank you!
