Eric is a portrait artist who carefully assembles every element of the final work. His photos characteristically play with contrast and color, and position his subjects in striking, powerful poses, decorated with symbolic attributes

A: Please, tell us a bit more about yourself. What brought you into photography?


E: It all started when I was 12, looking the world trough the lens of my father’s camera was a revelation.


A: What inspires you the most?


E: My model’s shapes, eyes and souls.


A: Do you have any specific rituals while working (creating)?


E: Checking the available natural light around me.


A: What would you recommend to someone new to photography, what to begin with?


E: Explore and work! The camera is an accessory.


A: Top 3 components for great photography?


E: Concerning my projects… model, light, kindness.




A: I’ve never taken pictures of ... but would love to.


E: If not in my cameras, all pictures are in my mind so… no frustration about that.


A: Must-read books to understand the art of photography?


E: So many photographic disciplines…! Irving Pen, Newton, Weston, and Avedon were my masters.


A: If you could change one thing in the world of photography - what would it be?


E: Bring Polaroid 4X5’, 8X10’, Type 55… back!
